The sparkWILD Institute and The WILD Navigation Company share founders and a common framework. We think the honest thing is to say exactly how the two relate, and how we keep the nonprofit independent.
One body of ideas, two organizations doing different work.
The WILD Intelligence framework was created by Chris W Greene, our founder. The same thinking gave rise to two organizations. The sparkWILD Institute is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that develops these human capacities in young people, families, educators, and the mission-driven organizations that serve them. The WILD Navigation Company is a separate, for-profit company that serves commercial clients. Two organizations, one intellectual lineage.
Like an aspen grove, the visible parts grow separately from a root system they share. We are open about the shared root because hiding it would be the only thing worth questioning.
The support runs toward the charity, never away from it.
The Institute uses the WILD Intelligence framework under a royalty-free license from The WILD Navigation Company. Where tools built on that framework help us serve our partners better, we use them under license or as donated resources, the way any nonprofit equips itself with the best tools available to it. Value flows toward the charitable mission.
What we do not do is just as important. The Institute does not sell software or advisory services, and it does not route the schools and organizations we serve toward anyone who does. Our programs stand on their own as charitable work. If an organization we serve later chooses a commercial tool, that is its own independent decision.
A separate organization, accountable on its own terms.
The sparkWILD Institute is a separate legal entity: a Colorado nonprofit corporation and 501(c)(3) public charity with its own mission and its own finances (EIN 82-4465246). Our founding board is being seated through 2026, and arrangements between the Institute and the Company are handled at arm's length, on terms reviewed by our board, so that support for the mission never becomes private benefit for anyone.
